Tasting Notes
Upon brewing, you'll smell pleasant sugary spices, with tasting notes that remind us of the top layer of a crème brûlée followed by notes of burnt sugar, dark chocolate, and sweet oak. For a dark roast, this is a truly bitterless coffee. Pairs well with milk and creamers.
About The Grand Teton Blend
Our darkest roast yet. We made it a mission of ours to create a truly special profile that offers the approachability of dark roasts, without the compromise in craft quality or excessive bitterness found nearly all darker roasts. To achieve this, we searched the world over until we found just the right Fair Trade / Organic origins to make this a truly unique blend that provide high-quality tasting notes and a smooth drinking experience. This dark blend has quickly become our most popular and fasting selling blend yet.
Fair Trade - Organic - Traceable
This blend consists of two traceable, Fair Trade and Organic Central American offerings - an El Milagro Peruvian and a Santa Elena Costa Rican coffee.
About the El Milagro Peru: Rafael has been working with coffee his entire 61 years of life on his family farm. Coffee has been on his mind and near to his heart since he was born, and now runs his family farm, El Milagro, which has been operating for over 100 years. “For me, coffee is the most beautiful activity I do,” he says. El Milagro has fifteen hectares planted with 20,000 coffee trees of Catuai and Caturra varieties. The harvest season is from September to January. During these months the farm has fifty employees working hard to hand collect the coffee cherries for processing at their wet mill.
About the Costa Rica Santa Elena: The owner of this estate, Luz Marina Trujillo, grew up in a family of coffee producers, and talks happily about spending her childhood playing with coffee beans instead of dolls. Now, she produces one of the finest coffees available on her estate Santa Elena in the highlands of Costa Rica’s most famous coffee growing region, Tarrazú. Luz Marina’s coffee is grown under shade, and the perfectly ripe coffee cherries are hand picked, and sorted for quality at her own mill. The cherries are then carefully de-pulped, washed and dried slowly on the patio at Finca Santa Elena to fully develop acidity and depth of flavor. Luz offers her employees outstanding housing and health care, as well as a state of the art drinking water filtration system.
